FROM DEEP WITHIN

life’s a cycle
nothing stays the same
existence’s a venue
where we play our games
we win, we lose
we submit, we fight
perception dictates
what’s wrong and what’s right

voices surround us
urging us to make a choice
the eyes of vanity lead us
to the land of costly toys
chances in, chances out
curses built from inside
light against darkness
forces within collide

from deep within
a battle rages on
a voice within calls
we have to move on

smiles are deceiving
contentment’s hypocrisy
the real driving force
is insatiability
we get one, we get more
we get no matter what it takes
whenever there is space
