we tried bullying our way
the obsession’s so strong
no such thing as a fair play
the urge is so instinctive
we could never go wrong
but just come to think of it
we’re also idiots all day long

engrossed in our arrogance
we discharge our tirades
non-believers are targets
of our ridiculous charades
the cruel insults are insane
there is no sign of remorse
what do we get from these
bloated egos of course…

there’s a threat somewhere
the scent of a war is appealing
a conspiracy is brewing up
built by those who are pretending
to be the voices of the people
the truth is they’re preparing for a sequel
of their reign of power to regain their control
their gracious faces hide the darkness of their souls

media taking side just like the old days
inflating a trivial issue in building its own case
their bias is relentless, stained reputation’s a disgrace
subservient to benefactors the stage becomes a launching base
the rules of engagement is now a one-way street
perpetrators are now the victims, guardians taking the heat
rabble-rousers are on the loose financed by the elite
ignorant supporters follow the drumbeat

hardcore against hardcore let us see who will win

intellectual snobs pretending to be non-partisan
with their one-sided comments they reveal their game plan
converging in the present supporting a well-known clan
they forgot the bloodshed on a disputed land
raised fists up in the air, in solidarity shouting they care
never forget, never again but what color do they wear
exorcising the devil through their silly collective prayers
they forgot what regime brought the bloody massacres

demand justice but selective when they speak
disregarding the facts they believe an oligarchic clique
the church by their side it seems the cast is now complete
with rhetorical exaggerations the target’s the highest peak
unity built in hypocrisy the familiar chants reverberate
a vicious cycle of opportunists who are just lying in wait
shouting real change but loyalty’s based on party mates
in the pursuit of fairness they don’t carry much weight

no complacency the signs are overwhelming
there’s a massive build up a plot is in the making
what’s happening around is like brain-conditioning
a trend is now projected so more will be complaining
issues are manipulated to sow anger and discontent
a monumental crisis will be a perfect moment
massive gatherings will no longer be a tiny dent
a vulture lies in wait a loyalty is just for rent

the debates are marred with their usual intentions
to create discontent while seeking more attentions
word wars initiated questions are mere deceptions
common sense is now replaced by their silly pretentions
the tale’s still the same, someone tries to fan the flames
blame game ensues to discredit an opponent’s name
public images are shown to project a perfect frame
while the country is pictured like a crying shame
