PREMONITION

Civilization is like a thin layer of ice upon a deep ocean of chaos and darkness. Werner Herzog”

a forecast is bleak
animosity's spreading fast
circumstances are disturbing
the situation's unsurpassed
the future is held captive
by cruelty, greed and deceit
the more we consume
the more we compete

the bleeding won't stop
the cuts are too deep
this is what we sow
this is what we reap

vanity distorts
our sense of reality
the only view we see
is our peculiarity
our souls rejoice
in our hypocrisy
when we share the image
of our twisted charity

the bleeding won't stop
the cuts are too deep
this is what we sow
this is what we reap

a prophecy looms
signs are everywhere
payback time is imminent
there isn’t much time to prepare
the world’s crumbling down
our survival is at stake
we are now reaping
the fruits of our mistakes

the bleeding won't stop
the cuts are too deep
this is what we sow
this is what we reap

WHEN NATURE CALLS

“Mother Nature is the great equalizer. You can't get away from it.” Christopher Heyerdahl

her voice is everywhere
signs are out there
the message is clear
it's time to show we care

ignore her warning
we’ll be on her path
right in the midst
of her destructive wrath

when nature calls
and we didn’t listen well
certainly our lives
will be a living hell

UNTITLED

using words as emblems
i scribble my thoughts
leaning on rationality
to link the chosen words
caught within my logic
and swallowed by my pride
a part of me dictates
just to keep them all inside

then I struggle
the line now is very thin
a mirage disappears
when reality sets in
a timeline is longer
a journey is left undone
darkness might prevail
when the spark I need is gone

CONVERGING POINT

the winds of death and havoc
swept everything on its trail
leaving a dreadful sight
that is simply off the scale
a place is desolated
a nation now on its knees
picking up the fragments
one by one piece by piece

shattered but not forsaken
the land is now a symbol
of courage and faith
of a resilient people
the wind and the surge
failed to destroy and submerge
the vessel of the spirit
where love and hope converge

CUL-DE-SAC

the raging tempest
discharged all her fury
with a force that is beyond
the conventional scale known to man
leaving a path of destruction that's never seen before

her ferocity
desolated a land
stripped people of their dignity and pride
reduced their hopes into calls of desperation
transformed an exquisite landscape into a wasteland

while hope remains
the images of hunger and death
the feeling of helplessness and isolation
might drive some minds to do the unthinkable

what they do now
to stay alive is simply not enough
more must be done to keep them within
the boundaries of patience and rationality

when the quest to live goes out of hand
all roads to survival will converge into a dead end

time is running out
time is running out

ENCHAINED

restrained by limited choice
blinded by false loyalty
a soundless voice descends
into the abyss of isolation
trying to figure out
if an escape is still a possibility

running out of time
while trying to catch his breath
he suddenly realized
that he's no longer in control
and no matter what he does
he doesn't have the will and the potency
to free himself from the chains of subservience

ANATHEMA

lured by the sweet scent of freedom
i have unlocked the door and found my way out
leaving behind the dark shadows of my old self

moving towards a clearer horizon
i knew that it's just a matter of time
my comfort zone will no longer be safe

under this prevailing circumstance
there is no other way
but to swiftly disengage my sight
from the curse of self-destruction
