without a warning
anything can change
something has to stop
though it may look a bit strange
it doesn’t really matter
even if we’re at close range
sometimes we have to make
an unlikely exchange
we’ve got to choose
think about the plan again
we’ll hear a twisted question
every now and then
even a stupid one-liner
can bring us to a solitary den
words can really shake us
we just don’t know how and when
there’s no perfect time
when realization comes in
an outcome is unsure
even if we’re aiming for a win
when the trigger is pulled
we can’t stop the firing pin
on the spur of the moment
we can be broken from within
