REDEMPTION

“In the end, it is our defiance that redeems us.” Mark Rowlands

Pretending to be sacred it’s a deception by design
Collusion makes it harder to choose and draw the line
Costly spectacles surround an enormous shrine
This sense of peculiarity sends shiver down my spine

Edifices are nothing they will later turn to ash
Emblems of sectarian power will vanish in a flash
Our borrowed beliefs will stumble and crash
The proof that we possess is just a worthless trash

The freedom we feel is nothing but an infernal jail
Our times are often wasted searching for a holy grail
The blood of the unborn, the worldly pride we unveil
Will bring our corrupted feet towards the hellish trail

Innocents are dying more people are left for dead
While the mouths of scoundrels are always well fed
Deafening in discourses but soundless in bloodshed
Our salvation is compromised listening to a figurehead

Redemption shall come in a time of chaos
Something mightier will rise even after a loss
Vengeance shall appear as an inverted cross
Perpetrators will suffer from an endless remorse
