the distance is overwhelming
and thoughts tend to overflow
a yearning within is relentless
while the gap is now a status quo
each step taken is a confirmation
if it’s the right time to let it go
my poetic verses will reveal
if I’m a friend or a hidden foe
miles will accumulate
just the same with what I write
even if I shut down the ego
some things just won’t seem right
I’ve to find and run each course
even if it takes a solo flight
filling a void with words
I can still put up a fight
